Samuel Ndonga is the co-founder and Managing Director for Samawati Capital Partners (SCP), an impact investment and advisory firm based in Nairobi, with a focus on the food and agribusiness, renewable energy, financial inclusion, health, and education sectors across Sub-Saharan Africa region. SCP is currently the investment sub-advisor for DWS International GmbH covering two impact funds i.e., the Africa Agriculture and Trade Investment Fund (AATIF) and Universal Green Energy Access Program (UGEAP), and Sahel Capital covering one impact fund i.e., Social Enterprise Fund for Agriculture in Africa (SEFAA). SCP has through its investment advisory work supported the deployment of over USD100m in investments over the last 4+ years.
Samuel has 16+ years of experience working in local and regional banks, impact NGOs, and investment funds, and has strong expertise in impact investment, commercial and development finance, sustainable private sector development as well as business growth advisory with a focus on manufacturing, trade, agribusiness, renewable energy, hospitality, MSME finance and technology for financial inclusion within the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
He holds a B.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Nairobi, an MBA from Strathmore Business School, and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Global Business Strategy from the IESE Business, Barcelona (Spain).
Samuel is also an alumnus of the Amani Institute’s Practice of Social Entrepreneurship (2013) and Leadership for Growth (2022) programs and sits on the boards of 2 impact-focused NGOs.
