Samuel Black

Samuel is passionate about breaking down the boundaries between people and sectors to create societal change. His degree History focused on the modern impact of imperialism, in particular how perceptions of different races legitimized the British Empire. Since then his work has ranged from raising awareness of the Sexual Offences Act in Sierra Leone, analyzing the Australian Labor Party for the British Foreign Office, supporting micro entrepreneurs to innovate their businesses in Kenya and preventing children from being radicalized in the UK. These positions have spanned the public, private and third sectors and it is in the grey area between these sectors that he enjoys to work, disrupting the status quo. Outside work, he loves to read, write and loves to learn about language. Inspired by a saying that humanity has come so far because we can imagine together, he is fascinated with how language is the needle with which we sow our collective myths.
