Renelyn Lastimosa

Program Coordinator, AFS

Reney is an independent young woman from the Philippines. She is passionate about better educating more people about rights of women and children in the Philippines and hopefully around the world. At age 15 she became the Ambassador of Filipino culture for the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program, educating US Americans on the cultures and realities of other countries to build intercultural understanding. She majored in Development Communication in her Education Communication’s degree, researching how communication facilitates social development. She was then invited to work with AFS Intercultural Programs Philippines as a country mentor and program coordinator for their High School Programs. While her time with AFS she has traveled to India, Malaysia, USA and Hungary. She loves traveling and learning about people, she believes that education is a powerful tool to empower individuals in the community. She loves to share her stories and inspire more young adults to dream big!
