Giulia Balestra

Innovation Research Officer at UNHCR Innovation Service

Giulia Balestra works for the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Innovation Service. Her work consists of using research to develop science-driven communication strategies, good practices, and narratives around connectivity for refugees and the ways in which the digital and human spaces intersect.

She has worked in humanitarian innovation, technology and forced displacement in East Africa and Europe and is passionate about exploring pathways to a more inclusive future. She has a Master of Science in Medical Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology and Italian Literature.
