Gideon Ndambuki

Teacher, Gatoto Primary School

Gideon is currently a teacher at Gatoto Community Primary School in Nairobi, Kenya. Gatoto School provides quality, gender-balanced education to 1,050 of Nairobi’s most disadvantaged children from Mukuru Kwa Reuben and the surrounding areas. At Gatoto, Gideon teaches both curricular and co-curricular subjects such as Social Studies, Kiswahili, Poetry, and Public Speaking. Gideon has long experience in scripting and teaching poetry. He has worked at Gatoto for 11 years as a teacher. Before coming to Gatato, Gideon earned a diploma in Early Childhood Development and Education. In addition, he has done short courses on Child Protection, Teacher Mentorship, Child Development, Psychology, and Child-Centered Methodologies in Learning. Gideon has also won several awards from Kenya National Music Festivals specifically in Elocution and Poetry.
