Originally from India, Gaurav was born and bred in Dubai. After returning to his hometown of Jaipur for high school, he had the opportunity to study across 4 different continents as a student of NYU Abu Dhabi where he recently graduated with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in Film and New Media.
While pursuing his undergraduate degree, Gaurav worked as Video Editor at The Gazelle, NYU Abu Dhabi’s student newspaper. He also worked as an Investments Analyst at VentureSouq, a Dubai-based Venture Capital fund that invests in early-stage impact-driven businesses. Gaurav loves to question the social structures and institutions that are conceived as gospel truths. To satiate his curiosity of the unknown, Gaurav’s Kindle is always by his side. His creative interests lie in effective storytelling, which he believes plays an integral role in delivering social change.
Finally, Gaurav plays online poker tournaments, and he enjoys indulging in sports of all kinds. Although he was captain of NYUAD’s Men’s Cricket Team, football is his life-long favorite sport.
