Maíra Valladares

Born and raised in Brazil, Maíra believes that every change begins at the individual level. For her, people are the key to transformation. To tell great stories about people, ideas and initiatives that are already making a better world, she studied Journalism and did a master in communications at Universitade Estadual Paulista (UNESP).She worked at local newspapers, agencies focused on water resources and sustainability and at AsBoasNovas.com, the first Brazilian website about positive news. However, at some point, just telling stories wasn’t enough. Since 2014, she has worked as project manager at Maker Brands, a startup consultancy that combines the agility of startups with the scale of large organizations to generate positive impact for society. In her free time you will probably find her reading a book, jogging, practicing Muay Thai or just having fun with friends.
