Liam Black

Founder & Chief Encouragement Officer, As We Please

Liam has created and led more than a dozen enterprises in the non-profit and private sectors. He is a co-founder of Impact Ventures UK, a ten year capital growth fund which has invested tens of millions of pounds in purpose first businesses such as Togetherall and Elvie.

Twenty years ago he was a founder of Social Enterprise UK and is one of the ‘grizzled radicals’ working with The Forward Institute, working with leaders in corporates, charities, the police and military.

Liam has written two books: There’s No Business Like Social Business(2004) and The Social Entrepreneur’s A to Z(2015). His next book The Gloves Off Mentor: a no BS guide to leadership and purpose will be published in Spring 2021.

He lives near London, has three adult children and four grandchildren who make him very happy indeed.
