Anish is a finance, operations and social enterprise strategist with over six years of experience working in the social impact space and in corporate America. He built his initial career capital working for iHeartMedia in New York. He led a team of 6 dealing with everything from operational reorganizations, strategy relaunch, complex data structuring and dashboarding to large divestitures, budgeting and forecasting.
Anish has now found his calling in the social impact space. His life goal is to fight multidimensional poverty through economic empowerment, leveraging the power of social enterprise. He started his journey in the social sector working for Alterna, a social enterprise accelerator and ecosystem-builder based in Guatemala. There he worked with over 15 early-stage entrepreneurs, guiding and cultivating them in financial, marketing and social impact-related concepts. He also helped structure and model Alterna’s first impact investing fund (US$500k) focused on solving the pioneer gap. He serves as an advisor on their board.
Anish holds a Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on Finance from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin, and a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a minor in Management Information Systems. Football and Arsenal make him sweat (physically and emotionally, respectively), and he is somewhere between embarrassed and proud of his interest in Spoken Word.
An effective altruist, Anish envisions a poverty-free world where everyone has an opportunity to live a contented, successful and impactful life with dignity. At Amani Institute, he hopes to learn by doing in the social impact space and to strengthen his global network of changemakers.
